Having moved in this July, we had an opportunity to chat with Karen & Pam, new residents to Victory Oak. They share their story on deciding to sell up and move from the suburbs of Southampton to a more semi-rural way of life in Ringwood.
With work previously bringing them to the area, the couple knew this was where they wanted to now live. Whilst searching online for property, a Facebook advert popped up advertising homes ready now at Victory Oak.
Show home launch
‘We saw there was a launch of the new show home taking place so thought this would be an ideal opportunity to come and see the development as well as enjoy a glass of fizz to celebrate the launch!’ They initially considered the ‘Beech’ house type which is a 3 bed-semi-detached home but a fortunate change in circumstance meant they could then consider the ‘Oak’ 4 bed house type and put a reservation down.
In between all of this, the covid-19 pandemic reached the UK, which made them have to complete on their current sale quicker than anticipated and move into temporary accommodation. ‘It wasn’t ideal at the time but we didn’t want to lose the buyers on our current house and forfeit losing our dream home at Victory Oak’ says Pam.
After this small hurdle, the couple finally got to the keys to their brand new home and have never looked back.
Life at Victory Oak
The main things Karen & Pam enjoy about living at Victory Oak is the sense of community. Being dog owners, they often bump into neighbours on their daily walk through Hurn Forest.
‘Amenities like the GP surgery and a range of supermarkets are all within easy reach, we also enjoy visiting the nearby Railway Pub & Kitchen, being vegan, they cater well for us and serve a decent beer as well!’
It’s great to hear Pam & Karen have settled quickly into ‘laid-back’ life at Victory Oak and we wish them well in their new home!
